How is WPM calculated?
WPM is calculated as (characters typed / 5) / (time elapsed in minutes). The standard 5-character-word convention is used, matching industry-standard typing tests. Accuracy is calculated as (correct characters / total characters) × 100.
What are the phrase categories?
Four categories with 50 phrases each: Famous Quotes (movie lines, historical quotes), Programming (code snippets and programming idioms), Proverbs (wisdom from around the world), and Literature (opening lines and passages from classic books).
Why is there no AI in 'TypeRacer AI'?
The 'AI' is in the name only — it's a playful nod to the era of slapping 'AI' on everything. TypeRacer AI is intentionally lightweight: 28KB, no ML models, no servers. Just curated content and a fast typing engine.
